New York House: A retrospective
The York House Development Project: A retrospective
Spanning 18-months, the construction at York House would see the Yorkshire site dramatically change, bring about significant service improvements for Mosaic Fulfilment Solutions and across the entire physical premises.
Initially, the redevelopment work was concentrated around the redesigning of the office spaces, creating additional room for the client services, accounts, contact centre and IT teams.
The work would see existing walls, staircases and the staff kitchen removed making way for a new client-focused meeting room, an expanded area for the contact centre, increased staff capacity and for the creation of coffee bar – all seeking to improve not just staff performance and productivity but long-term business growth.
Externally the ground clearage would start in earnest and would see many tonnes of soil cleared from around the site, making way for the construction of a purpose-built 200-capacity car park, alongside this a 20 eco-charging ports we’re put in place and wholesale improvements for accessible parking and secure bike racks we’re built.
Due to the rural nature of the York House site, being able to provide secure and numerous parking facilities is an essential requirement for our staff and in building the modern, and eco-ready solutions Mosaic continues to demonstrate its drive to a modern, forward-thinking business ready to adapt and adopt to exciting new trends.
The construction of an additional 45,000 sq. ft of warehousing would occupy the main thrust of the development, boosting Mosaic’s handling capacity to over 2 million parcels per annum. Through its 11-meter high racking, 8,000 pallet locations extended loading bays and tailor parking areas, the warehouse improves both productivity and capacity, future-proofing the fulfilment operation for many years to come.
The York House site will continue to evolve as the operation flexes so to must the service provision, in recent weeks the construction of a second mezzanine floor and newly installed conveyor belt have been completed, whilst work is soon to become on the expansion of new packing areas.
As the new development begins to take shape, we will be sharing these updates and more exciting news from Mosaic.
